5,965 SQ. FT. | Mississauga, ON | Completed 2016
This large infill corner lot was developed in a manner that creates both grandeur and privacy. The L-shape configuration allowed for an intimate backyard. The resulting long facade provided a canvas upon which many architectural design elements could be placed. The numerous steeply pitched gables exposed themselves in various forms and materials throughout. The mix of natural stone and board and batten siding was chosen to downplay the home’s inherent scale while providing architectural variety on all facades. The true success of the home is the extent to which it coexists with much smaller surrounding homes. Thoughtful site integration was an important part of the design exercise.
